Literacy Blog

Literacy is defined by Webster as "the ability to read and write". I believe that literacy has much more to it the reading and writing, it is all around us whether we know it are not. It also even effects the people that can't read or write in some countries. Literacy can be expressed though speeches, drawings, images, pictures, texts, and even movies. The amount of different literacy we create over the period of our lives makes us eclectic to literature. Many students only relate novels and essays to literature because of their experiences in high school, but they actually use literature more often then they think in their everyday lives outside of their learning environment. I also strongly believe after one adapts his or her own writing style and tone, people can really learn a lot about a writer though those aspects form just reading his or her pieces.
